Sunshine Coast Kayaking Kayaks
You are going to have a lot of fun on the Sunshine Coast Kayaking in "top of the line" lightweight carbon fibre Kayaks!

This is a kayaking paradise! The Kayaking along the BC coast is nothing short of spectacular. All year around the serene and beautiful coastal tidal shores never let down nor dissapoint. For one of the best kept secrets in BC, you will surely be impressed by an area called the Sunshine Coast whos home to such places as Sechelt for kayaking, Jervis Inlet for kayaking, Hothham Sound for kayaking, Jeddiah Islands kayaking, Nelson Island kayaking, Porpoise Bay kayaking, Princess Louisa, Texada Island Kayaking, and Vancouver Bay for kayaking.

The Sunshine Coast of British Columbia is split into two portions on either side of Jervis Inlet. Roughly speaking, the southern half between the ferry slips at Langdale and Earls Cove occupies the Sechelt Peninsula, while the northern half between the ferry slip at Saltery Bay and Lund sits on the Malaspina Peninsula. The beautiful coastline is deeply indented at Jervis Inlet, slicing deep into the Coast Mountain Range. Jervis Inlet becomes Princess Royal Reach and Queens Reach, with a branch to Princess Louisa Inlet and the famed Chatterbox Falls.

While paddling on Sechelt Inlet, you can expect to find an excellent example of B.C.'s West Coast natural beauty. Sechelt Inlet is protected from wind and waves that are common on open ocean waters by high surrounding mountains. Mornings and evenings are typically calm and peaceful with lush green mountains reflecting off of the tranquil blue ocean surface. During mid-day, thermal winds often blow from south to north creating a more challenging and active paddling adventure. As the majority of the inlet is boat access only, there are exceptional wilderness and wildlife viewing opportunities. Plus, there are eight designated Wilderness Marine Parks, as well as many boat access only sandy beach areas.

At the heart of the Sunshine Coast is Nelson Island and its neighbor, the smaller Hardy Island. These islands are at the intersection of the Malapina Strait, the Agamemnon Channel and Jervis Inlet.... situated directly in between the northern and southern peninsulas of the Sunshine Coast. Despite the rising popularity of Sunshine Coast kayak trips, these islands remain as one of the better kept secrets within the kayaking world. Talaysay's kayaking guides have been traveling on weekend expeditions to these islands since the early 1990's and our guides know the land and waters here extremely well.

Jervis Inlet Kayaking near and around Desolation Sound to the north are of such fjordic proportions that they attract a steady stream of marine traffic throughout the summer months, when brilliant sun shines on the countless cataracts that cascade down the sheer-sided slopes. Come moodier months, the clouds become ensnared in the snaggle-toothed peaks, making you feel just as pleased to stick to the sunnier coastline.

Jedidiah Island Kayaking near the Marine Provincial Park is located between Lasqueti and Texada islands in the Sabine Channel of Georgia Strait. It is accessible by boat only. You can reach the park from Pender Harbour via water taxi or private boat. Approximately 5 kms of walking trails cross the 243 hectare island connecting the secluded bays and old-growth forest of Douglas-fir and Arbutus trees.

Porpoise Bay Kayaking near the Provincial Park is located at the south end of Sechelt Inlet approximately 4 km (2.5 mi) north of Sechelt town centre. This wheelchair-accessible, 61-hectare park offers numerous camping and recreational options with showers, washrooms and sanitary facilities. Day use areas include sandy beaches, picnic areas and a children's playground. This park makes an excellent base camp for paddlers exploring Sechelt Inlet. A cyclist-only camping area with showers and a pit toilet accommodates up to 40 people in 6 bike-in sites that kayakers may also use.

Princess Louisa Inlet kayaking is truly the jewel of the Sunshine Coast. Steeped in Native history with rock paintings, abandoned villages, mile-high fjords and a thousand glacier-fed waterfalls, this a paradise for paddler's. Princess Louisa Inlet's scenery is internationally known and as you kayak in, you will easily understand why.

Jedediah Islands kayaking is a stunning and gorgeous 7 to 10 day trip. This Inlet is at the tip of a number of zig-zagging reaches that cut through the Coast Range Mountains, dividing the upper and lower ranges of the Sunshine Coast. In some places, the mountains of this fjord rise sheerly, 4,000 feet directly from the water. It is an impressive feeling of awe to be in a kayak with such sublime cliff walls on either side.

This is a 4 Day - Maximum 12 people per group excursion. Jedediah is the main attraction of this trip, although it also features the west side of Texada Island with its old abandoned minnig shafts and worker camps. We circumnavigate Jedediah and explore both shores of the Sabine Channel, which is also famous for the runs of spring and coho salmon in late August. Jedediah offers 640 acres of old-growth forest and magnificient oyster-filled beaches, wild horses, and abandoned Euro-Canadian dwelllings from another era altogether.

While kayaking, for the day or on a multi-day trip it is a relaxing time in the sun and fresh air, with the mountains, the wildlife, marine life and birds as a background. All of this can be seen and experienced at a reasonable cost, to see all of the wonders and experience the waters of Sunshine Coast kayaking.

Talaysay Tours and the experienced guides make the day trip or multi-day kayak trip more exciting, since they will know all of the sites to point out and make camping on the beach even more exciting. Sunshine Coast kayaking is a unique experience in some of the best waters to be out on, with the marine life, the sites, sounds and smells.
